Adam Mackintosh

The Last Dancers have relocated to Los Angeles California and will be comprised of Adam Mackintosh, Pat Bohan, David Graham and Dano Capristo.

The Last Dancers
Soul child of song writer/performer Adam Mackintosh, The Last Dancers throw down original rock with a classic, guitar-driven, pop-melodic sensibility. The genre line blurs from verse to chorus and no style of expression is off limits. Lap Steel, 12-String and 3 part harmony over "right-of-the-dial" BPM's makes for an electrifying wave after wave of rock pleasure.

This is great, it's like ROCK that you don't have to feel dumb about enjoying. All the hedonism, but without the misogyny. Face melting guitar solos.- Alex Galt (Musician- Green Bay)

  • If there’s simply one show you need to attend in Door County this summer, let the Songwriter Showcase be it! Featuring an evening of original music by a combination of national artists and local favorites, the popular Songwriter Showcase makes its way to the Door Community Auditorium (DCA) stage on Thursday, July 16 at 7 pm.

Initially created by local musicians Anna Sacks and Adam Mackintosh in 2007 as a way to showcase original songs and talent, the Showcase has gained popularity in various venues around Door County as well as the Green Bay area. The DCA show is a testament to the event’s growth and the need to show the community at large the effect the Showcase has had on area musicians and songwriters.

The evening will be hosted by Mackintosh and Sacks, and features Chris Simmons, a fantastic singer/songwriter from London who is in the process of releasing his first full-length album in August. Simmons recently completed his first tour of the United States and the UK. He has recorded with members of the Violent Femmes, pat mAcdonald, and many other nationally known musicians.

Simmons will be preceded on stage by newcomer Ben Teegarden, a Green Bay musician who had never written a song until several months ago. Since attending a showcase in Sturgeon Bay earlier this year he has written over a dozen songs, and will be sharing those (along with his experiences) on the DCA stage. Also appearing will be local favorites Mark Raddatz and his son, Seth Raddatz - who is rapidly gaining a name for himself at the young age of fifteen.

Hosts Adam Mackintosh and Anna Sacks are quickly becoming some of the most recognizable faces on the Door County music scene. Mackintosh, also a prolific songwriter, has played with great musicians such as Jackson Brown, Clyde Stubblefield, Eric McFadden of Parliament Funkadelic, and many others. His style of music is reminiscent of David Bowie, John Lennon, George Harrison, and the Kinks. Soulful Sacks has crisp acoustics, a beautiful voice, and a down-to-earth quality that permeates through every song she writes and sings.

The Songwriter Showcase is produced through Gift Horse Presents!, a collaborative effort for live concert production based in Door County.

  • On Saturday, July 11th from 2p to 4p Gallery Forty Two will host folk/rock songwriter Adam Mackintosh as its guest artist for the art and music jam. The weekly "art and music jam" is a popular improvisational event during which gallery owner Tim Nyberg paints the music he is hearing and guest musicians improv to the art Tim is creating.

Adam is a gifted songwriter/performer who found his way to Door County from Portland, Oregon via the Steel Bridge Songfest. His vocals will remind you of Lennon/McCartney. He hosts a weekly "Songwriter's Showcase" in Sturgeon Bay and the Fox River Valley in which he encourages original compositions. Quite possibly, Adam will be joined at the jam by his very significant other, Anna, who has a wonderful voice as well. Regulars to the G42 art and music jams will be interested in seeing what effect the introduction of lyrics has on the art and music "dance ."

More about Adam: Adam Mackintosh is a unique American songwriter. After six European tours and three years in Wisconsin writing with some of the nations best writers, Adam has shared stages and recordings with James Hall of The Pleasure Club, Storm Large, Anna Sacks, Jackson Browne, Pat mAcdonald (Timbuk 3), Clyde Stubblefield (James Brown's Funky Drummer), Eric McFadden of Parliament Funkadelic and a multitude of highly talented industry professionals. Adam has performed at over 400 concerts in the US and Europe to crowds ranging from 10 to 5000. His style of music has been compared to many of the greats, Harry Nillsson, David Bowie, John Lennon, Radiohead, George Harrison, Jellyfish, Old 97's, Big Star and The Kinks. Learn more and hear Adam's music at AdamMackintosh.com

Free admission as always, and free wine to lubricate your viewing and listening experience. Gallery 42 is at the corner of Hwy. 42 and Juddville Road between Egg Harbor and Fish Creek. Summer hours are Wednesday through Monday from noon to 5p (closed Tuesdays). More information at GalleryFortyTwo.com or call 920-785-1123.
