Now offering instruction in Hollywood to beginner and intermediate students of Guitar and beginner to advanced students of song composition. Lessons are @60 minutes long, cost $30 ($40 with travel) and are packed with information for students to practice over the week. Students range in age from 5-55...anyone can start playing at any age. Additional instruments taught are Bass, Cigar Box Guitar, beginning and intermediate music Theory/piano keyboard. I never thought I would like teaching. Not even a little bit. So it just goes to show you that you have to try something before you decide not to like it...I will have been teaching for over four years as we move into 2011 and I have to say I love it. I feel like I have really found a unique way to express music fundamentals to someone who has zero knowledge of anything musically theoretical in a way that makes them say, "now I undrstand what I've been listening to my entire life." In fact, I have heard that from students who have been performing for over a decade! I keep it fun and interesting by adding in elements of Songwriting and as I teach basic (and sometimes boring) fundamentals, I might add in a bit about why C, G and F work together so well and have been used in so many songs and maybe I'll write one on the spot with whoever is taking a lesson at the moment. Surprise! A new song is born....Honestly, the rewards are endless and there is really no greater gift than to be compensated to play and impart knowledge of the guitar.
